On the morning of June 3, Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) organized a conference on lifting technical barriers to promote the consumption of agricultural products in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The conference aimed to find solutions adapted to the new situation and to agree on an effective method of action to help companies achieve better results in terms of economic development in the context of the pandemic. Since the start of the year, the consumption of agricultural products has been difficult for both objective and subjective reasons.
In addition, the congestion in the movement of goods due to the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2021 made winter vegetables partly redundant in Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc and the peri-urban districts of Hanoi.
At the conference, delegates focused on exchanging and recommending solutions to deal with technical issues such as animal and plant quarantine procedures, hygiene and food safety issues, packaging regulations. , registration labels and traceability. for exported agricultural products; solve the difficulties in the consumption of agricultural products by companies when localities apply reinforced measures to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition, there is a need to open the market and provide information on trade barriers in specific import markets as well as facilitate the process of animal and plant quarantine, food hygiene and safety inspection. for companies marketing agricultural products.
