Lauding the achievements of farmers and others in the agricultural sector, he noted that Ghana has become a food basket for West Africa due to their hard work.

He added that residents of neighboring towns travel to Ghana to purchase goods.

The agricultural minister also noted that several programs and interventions are underway to help farmers and inhabitants of the savannah area.

He cited the Savannah Zone Agricultural Productivity Improvement Project (SAPIP) as one of the projects to be implemented soon.
