Hanoi (VNA) – In the midst of the difficulties caused by
COVID-19[female[feminine pandemic, the export of agricultural and aquatic products to the EU is still seeing many positive signs, as Vietnamese companies have exported fresh fruit directly to foreign partners.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in the first seven months of 2021, the EU was Vietnam’s third-largest market after the United States and China, with total export turnover of $ 22.6 billion, up 15.6% year-over-year.

Of the 28.6 billion USD in export revenues from agro-fishery and forestry products, the EU market accounted for 11 percent.

The year 2021 is considered a milestone when fruits such as fresh lychee and longan are directly exported to Western European countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and the Kingdom. – United by Vietnamese companies. A representative of the Vietnam Trade Office in Belgium and EU said that to help Vietnamese products gain better access to the EU market, it will coordinate with the Agricultural Product Processing and Market Development Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to compile a list of ‘prestigious fruit processing and exporting companies across the country with which to connect partners and continue to seek new partners in the EU.

The locations proposed by the office pay more attention to the call of domestic exporters to establish close links with households, businesses and cooperatives to promote production with Global GAP certification and to support exporters to ensure the smooth flow of commodities.

Regarding the export of aquatic products in the EU market, a representative of Vietnam’s trade office in Spain advised exporters to fully comply with technical standards for food safety and hygiene, from capture, preservation to processing and transport in order not to infringe the applicable food safety regulations of the EU in general and Spain in particular.
